TrailerConnect Pty Ltd ABN 19 695 664 361 (“TrailerConnect”, “we”, “us”) operates the TrailerConnect marketplace at trailerconnect.com.au. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, address, driver’s licence number, expiry date and issuing state, and a hashed password.
Booking information: We collect hire dates, trailer selections, pricing data and booking status to facilitate transactions.
Payment information: Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor. TrailerConnect does not store raw card numbers. We retain a record of transaction amounts, dates and outcomes.
Location data: Trailer listing suburbs and approximate coordinates are collected from Owners to enable location-based search. We use Google Maps services to geocode addresses.
Communications: If you contact us by email or through our contact form, we retain that correspondence.
We use your personal information to: operate and improve the Platform; facilitate bookings and process payments; send transactional emails (booking confirmations, payment receipts, booking updates); respond to support enquiries; detect and prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations.
We will not use your information for unsolicited marketing without your consent.
Service providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including our payment processor, cloud hosting provider, email delivery service, and mapping services (Google Maps). These providers are contractually required to protect your information.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation or valid legal process.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
We use session cookies necessary for authentication and Platform functionality. We may use analytics tools to understand how the Platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some functionality may be affected.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Account data is retained for up to 7 years after account closure for legal and financial record-keeping purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7).
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; and in some circumstances, request deletion of your information.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but take all reasonable precautions.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to TrailerConnect. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on the Platform. The updated policy will take effect upon posting.
