TrailerConnect is a trust-first marketplace. All trailer owners create a verified account with a confirmed email address. Listings show the owner name and ratings from past renters. We are continuing to expand trust signals including profile reviews and listing badges.
A temporary hold is placed on your card when you submit a booking request. The charge is completed when the owner confirms the booking. If the owner declines or does not respond within 24 hours, the hold is released automatically and no charge is made.
Insurance is not currently included in the booking price. We recommend checking your existing car or contents insurance policy, as some policies extend to hired trailers. Trailer-specific coverage options are on our roadmap.
If your booking has not yet been confirmed by the owner, your card hold will be released if you cancel before confirmation. Once a booking is confirmed and paid, cancellation policies apply as per our Terms of Service. We recommend contacting the owner directly as soon as possible.
After your booking is confirmed and payment is complete, coordinate pickup details directly with the owner. The owner contact information is shown in your dashboard. Arrange a mutually convenient time, and the owner will hand over the trailer at the listed suburb.
Yes. Owners review every booking request and can accept or decline. If your request is declined or the owner does not respond within 24 hours, the hold on your card is released automatically and you will not be charged — simply search for another listing.
When you make a booking request, our system checks for conflicts with other confirmed bookings for the same trailer. If there is an overlap, you will see a warning and will not be able to submit. Confirmed date ranges are blocked in real time.
Our booking system prevents double-booking automatically. Once a booking is confirmed, those dates are locked — any new request overlapping those dates will be blocked. If you encounter an issue, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.
If there is a problem with your rental — damage, a no-show, or a dispute — contact us through the contact page and we will investigate. All payments include buyer protection. We take all reports seriously.
If you cancel a paid booking more than 48 hours before your pickup date, you receive a full refund. Cancellations between 24 and 48 hours before pickup receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup are non-refundable. You can cancel directly from your dashboard.
Instant Book lets you confirm a booking without waiting for the owner to manually approve it. When you select dates and submit, the booking is confirmed immediately. Look for the Instant Book badge on listings to identify which trailers offer this feature.
Some trailer owners require a refundable security bond. The bond amount is shown on the listing and is held at the time of payment. It is returned in full after you return the trailer in the same condition. The bond is not a fee — it is a deposit.
Click List Your Trailer in the top navigation or visit /list-trailer. You will need to create an account, provide details about your trailer (type, size, location, price), and upload photos. Once submitted, our team reviews your listing before it goes live — usually within 24 hours.
Most Australian trailer owners earn between $800 and $3,000 per year from a single trailer. Earnings depend on your trailer type, location, price, and how often it's available. Trailers with Instant Book and multiple photos typically book more frequently. Listing is free — there are no upfront costs. TrailerConnect deducts a 10% platform fee from each booking, and the remaining 90% is paid directly to your bank account.
